Knoflookbieslook, ook wel Chinese bieslook genoemd, is een groene bladgroente met een milde knoflooksmaak. Ze worden niet alleen als garnering gebruikt, maar zijn een veelzijdig ingrediënt voor allerlei gerechten. Ik voeg ze vooral graag toe aan dumplings, waar ze de vulling een subtiele smaak geven.

Knoflookbieslook heeft potentiële antikanker eigenschappen, omdat het antioxidanten bevat zoals flavonoïden die helpen schadelijke vrije radicalen in het lichaam te neutraliseren. Hoewel deze antioxidanten de algehele gezondheid kunnen ondersteunen en mogelijk het risico op bepaalde kankers kunnen verminderen, zijn hun effecten voornamelijk preventief in plaats van curatief.

Garlic chives, also known as Chinese chives, are a leafy green vegetable with a mild garlic flavor. They are not just a garnish but a versatile ingredient used in a wide variety of dishes. I especially love adding them to dumplings, where they infuse the filling with their delicate taste.

Garlic chives have potential anticancer properties, as they contain antioxidants like flavonoids that help neutralize harmful free radicals in the body. While these antioxidants can support overall health and may reduce the risk of certain cancers, their effects are primarily preventive rather than curative.
